My dad was one of the best men I’ve ever known. He was one of the rare people who cared about others more than himself. Really good things happen to people like this, everyone is drawn to them for a reason. They make the world a better place.
Unfortunately he died of cancer a few years ago. You can learn a lot by a person from who shows up at their funeral. My dad was not a rich man, but he chose to live life serving others and making a difference in their lives. Because of this he had nearly 300 people show up at his funeral. The things that people said made me so proud to be his son.
Ever since that moment I realized that this life is so much bigger than we are. We have many choices in this life. Family will always come first, but our decisions will define us.
During the last 3 years I have been challenged numerous times. Do I make the selfish decision or the decision for the greater good? Every time I thought, what would my father do? The times I chose for the greater good have been more prosperous than I could ever imagine.
At Secure One Capital I have never worked with so many selfless people. Our leaders Jim Pate, Rooven Akiba, Munir Bisharah, James Mowrer, Bruce Edgell, Adam Afghani, Chase Cunningham and our top performers are all selfless leaders.
Everyone is here to help you and our customers. We have built a team that is here for you. They are here to help all of our families and the families of our customers. Out of the 67 employees on our team I can honestly say that nearly everyone follows this vision that drives me.
There are a few of you that have been thinking with your own agenda and not following our company’s vision. I challenge you to think with the end in mind.
If today was your last day on earth, would you be proud of who you’ve become? Would you be happy with your vision? If not, step up to the plate, be selfless, and think about who would be there at your funeral…speaking proudly about you.
This is your time to shine. Help others, whether it be your coworkers or customers, your friends or family members. My door is always open. Let’s make some magic happen.
